American Harvest

Description: Farming is considered the oldest industry in America, and modern technology has advanced the industry, allowing farmers to get their work done in a more efficient manner. "American Harvest" follows Johnson Harvesting, Inc., a Minnesota-based company that began as an 80-acre farm in the 1800s and has since evolved to an operation covering more than 2,500 acres. Brothers Lance and Shawn, who now run the business, repeat the same annual cycle -- prep, plant, route a harvest and train a crew before spending eight months traveling between Texas and Minnesota harvesting their crops. The show also looks at Johnson Harvesting's support system, which includes consultants, agronomists, ag salesmen and researchers.
