Description: The odds seemed stacked against first-time bar owners. Whether it's because of competition, location, poor management, lack of operating capital, or a combination thereof, many bars fail within the first operating year. In "Bar Hunters," veteran bar and restaurant industry consultant Tom Powers uses a wealth of understanding about what it takes to make a space successful to help wannabe bar owners achieve their dreams. In each episode, Powers finds three potential hot spots and ranks each one for success. But not all spaces are created equal, with each having its own share of positives and negatives. Tom gives his opinion, and the bar newbies then pick the space that best fits their budget and concept.
