Description: Britain is already the most obese country in Western Europe, with more than 50 per cent of the population projected to be obese by 2050. Obesity is the second biggest cause of premature death in the UK after smoking tobacco. Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall confronts some of the biggest food companies and restaurant chains and challenges them to be more honest about the health impact of what they are selling and serving. Hugh also sets out to prove whether bad eating habits begin as children by getting a group of them to do a supermarket shop without their parents, seeing what brands they are drawn to and what are their hidden health costs. In Newcastle, Hugh also organises a project to see how much weight the city can lose over the course of a year.
