Damned (2016)

Description: Written by Jo Brand, Morwenna Banks and Will Smith, `Damned' follows a team of dedicated social workers in Children's Services at Elm Heath council. In the age of austerity the department is facing government cuts, huge levels of stress-related sick leave, useless temporary staff and an ever increasing client list. Jo Brand plays Rose, an irritable, chaotic character who struggles to manage her home and work-life, not helped by her ever-present ex-husband. Alan Davies, of `QI' and `Jonathan Creek' fame, plays Al who is apathetically trying to negotiate a mid-life crisis by searching for new excitement and new challenges. Crises pile up as the team try to manage the complex and brutal problems in the community without any fanfare or support.
