Food Fortunes

Food Fortunes

Description: Entrepreneurs with an idea for a new food-related product have a chance to get potentially life-changing cash infusions from a panel of investors on "Food Fortunes." Each episode features four investors, who rotate throughout the series. These investors hear pitches from visionaries with what they think is the next big idea -- if only they had the capital needed to bring it to fruition and get it out to the public. After hearing each pitch, the investors must decide whether or not it's an idea worth putting some money toward or a pie-in-the-sky notion with which they wouldn't get a return on their cash. A healthy coffee franchise and a robot that acts as a personal chef are among the ideas pitched to the investors, who include restaurateur Willie Degel, Planet Hollywood founder Robert Earl and meat wholesaler Pat LaFrieda.
