Gorder's client is herself, as she embarks on the renovation of her home located high above Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood. She bought the rundown place next door -- one that's been untouched for 40 years -- and the plan is to connect the two apartments to create a fabulous, spacious home for her and her daughter. Plenty of obstacles crop up as walls come down, but Gorder knows from experience that prime New York real estate always comes with a price.
