Description: Actor and comedian Griff Rhys Jones sets out on a journey across the United Kingdom to explore the different ways rivers have influenced, nurtured and powered life. He begins his travels in Scotland, from Kinlockleven to Perth, and goes canyoning. The next leg of his trip takes him along Britain's working waterways, from Liverpool to Humber, travelling by barge through the canal network. His visit to the West takes him to the rivers Wye and Severn, and to Stinking Wells, where he takes the waters. Then he paddles down the Lea, floating past fields of barley and the country's largest gunpowder works. He ends his journey attempting to alk through the Fens on traditional stilts.
