The Alectrix

Description: For the most part, making it in the music biz requires talent and a manager who knows how to market that talent. "The Alectrix" is a half-hour docuseries that showcases how a pop group attempts to reach superstardom with the help of a music mogul. The six-episode series introduces Heather Naylor, the founder and original manager of all-girl ensemble The Alectrix. To jump-start the group's career, Naylor hires talent manager and producer Joe Simpson (Jessica and Ashlee Simpson's father), whose vision for the singers clashes with Naylor's, and neither is willing to alter course. Friendships are tested and rivalries ignite when Simpson makes the original members re-audition against a group of his own, handpicked, singers.
