Description: Journalist and political commentator Andrew Marr looks at the life and achievements of Queen Elizabeth II. The three-part documentary tells the story of a young girl who never expected to accede to the throne. Marr discovers, 60 years after her reign began, that the Queen still expends extraordinary energy at every engagement, whether it be a state visit or a small reception. The programme talks about the special relationships the Queen has had with the 12 Prime Ministers she has worked with during her reign, and includes interviews with David Cameron, Tony Blair and Sir John Major. Marr also examines what the day-to-day duties of the royal family entail and follows the Queen to the Middle East and the U.S. on a trade and international relations mission.
