The Polar Bear Family & Me

Description: In this nature program, wildlife cameraman Gordon Buchanan sets out to do something that has not been done before -- follow a wild family of polar bears over the course of three seasons. Gordon travels by boat, along with arctic survival experts, to Svalbard, an archipelago in northern Norway. Upon arriving in Svalbard, Gordon and his crew meet a mother bear named Lyra and her cubs, Miki and Luca, as they emerge from their den. Gordon lives with the bear family during the spring -- with return trips in the summer and autumn -- so he can get closer to the bears than ever before in an attempt to learn more about polar bears' family life than has been discovered in the past.
